ALERT: CDA Parade Still Prohibiting Crosses and Religious Symbols

It’s time to turn up the pressure on the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce.

Yesterday, Idaho Family Policy Center learned that the Chamber had recently implemented a new policy banning crosses and other religious symbols at their upcoming Independence Day parade.

In less than 12 hours, over a thousand Idahoans – people like YOU – exercised biblical citizenship by using our Action Center to demand that the Chamber change this policy.

At first, it seemed like the Chamber heard your concerns and had changed the religious symbols policy on their website.

However, we’ve now learned that event participants have just been told by the Chamber that they will still not be allowed to use religious symbols, including crosses, in their parade floats.

It seems that the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce is floundering—and it’s time for Idaho Christians to turn up the pressure and continue demanding policy changes.

Use our Action Center to send an email directly to the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce, asking them to allow Christian parade participants to express their faith – and the faith of our forefathers – at this community event.

  1. Linda I’m very disappointed that you would be involved with implementing this. You claim to be a Christian and believe in God?
Why make this decision? As far as I know there has never been an incident with any religion or with someone’s political beliefs at the 4th of July Parade. But the Chamber has now created one. I’m extremely disappointed in you and this shows really what you believe in.

  2. How dare you instigate your prejudice against Christians. Shame on you. I know you will allow other symbols. But not the symbols of Christ. We are no longer a free America with such prejudice.

  3. I am the oldest member of a very large extended family living in Grangeville Idaho and others that often visit Northern Idaho. Today, before our evening dinner, I will ask them to never spend another dime in Coeur d’Alene, unless you change your unamerican Policy. against Religious Symbols in your/our Parade.

  4. Let Christians express and share their faith and that of all of our forefathers at the Cd’A 4th of July Parade. Sheesh, unbelievable that this is even an issue! God Bless and Keep You All.

  5. I can’t believe religious symbols and crosses cannot be exhibited in the Fourth of July parade. Even though I have grandchildren in that parade, I will not attend. This is against our freedom of speech.

  6. Hopefully they will see the consequences of trying control the outcomes with rules and censorship, and quickly repeal their policy.

  7. Please allow the will of the people to prevail by allowing religious symbols to be displayed in the 4th of July parade.

    Kind regards,

    Gerry Burke

  8. Our nation was founded on the Bible & godly principles. America’s destiny and purpose were sealed with a cross at Cape Henry in 1607.
In the Mayflower Compact of 1620 the Pilgrims reaffirmed the mission set forth by the original Virginia settlers. They came to propagate the gospel. John Winthrop declared, “We shall Be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us, so that if we shall deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken and so cause Him to withdraw His present help from us, we shall be made a story and a byword throughout the world.”

  9. CDA chamber of commerce,
Your anti-religious policy for the Fourth of July parade is very bias and offends my first amendment rights as well as pretty sure is unconstitutional in our great state and nation !
Furthermore, churches are the cornerstone of traditional family values you already know this and choose to in encourage the anti -family narrative of unnatural behaviors ! I strongly encourage to reconsider this policy for our great nation that was founded on Christian values !

  10. Since when does such a small community group (chamber) dictate to the community they will not allow God/crosses & religious symbols into the July 4 events (parade) ? It’s in God we trust, whether you invite him into your life, he is in your life in that He loves you, he’s waiting for you to realize it. I just pray this same chamber doesn’t allow Woke stuff then either then. Maybe we need new unbiased chamber members???

  11. No crosses? You are censoring Jesus? What kind of community do you want? Let truth shine forth in Coeur d’Alene! (Jesus said, “I am the truth…”

  12. I am hear report that the CDA counsel reversed this . . .IS that true or is it still in effect as of today July 2, 2024???
This concerning the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce recently implemented a new policy banning crosses and other religious symbols at their upcoming Independence Day parade.

  13. This is quite remarkably unbelievable. I bet you’d allow a reggae flag, black lives matter, Palestine flag, pride flag, star of David or Islam flag.
You can’t sanitize till it’s vanilla or can you.

  14. shame on you! it’s freedom of speech/expression. you have no right to impose/enforce such bans. take your personal agenda elsewhere.

  15. What is wrong with you people? Our country was founded on Biblical principals. Can you not see where we’re headed? And you’re contributing to the downslide at a grassroots level?
Please. I bet you’re no longer relevant in your city.
Silly, silly people who think you can control our minds.
