You can make a difference to protect children’s innocence—so please get involved!

Recommended Talking Points:

  • Pornographic materials harm developing minds and contribute to juvenile delinquency, sexual deviancy, and sexual violence.
  • No one is talking about “banning” books. We’re simply asking that schools and libraries take reasonable steps to prevent children from accessing pornographic materials.
  • Our taxpayer dollars should never be used for the purpose of making sexually explicit materials available to children.
  • The First Amendment does not require libraries to make obscene materials available to children. In fact, all members of the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously agreed that public libraries have a “legitimate” and “compelling” interest in “protecting young library users from material inappropriate to minors” (U.S. v. American Library Association, 2003).
  • More than 50 public school and community libraries across Idaho make pornography available to children, according to a report by Idaho Family Policy Center.
  • According to recent statewide polling, nearly 75% of likely Idaho voters believe schools and community libraries should keep pornographic materials away from minor children.

  1. Get rid of the filth/pornography our kids are exposed to in the schools and libraries!!!!!!!! We ALL KNOW It’s grooming and the end game is legalizing pedophilia…NO WAY!!! Protect our kids!!! They are KIDS and shouldn’t be exposed to ANY sexual material at their age!! Gosh it doesn’t take a rocket scientist!!! Do the RIGHT THING and clean out the libraries from this filth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. It is about time! Thank you for providing a way to express our outrage at this sick, twisted & perverted problem in our libraries! I will share this EVERYWHERE!

  3. I vote to get rid of that smut in our libraries. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to protect our children and community.

  4. At the very least remove the filth and smut and pornography from the children’s section in public and school libraries.

  5. This isssue just confounds me. We (the U.S.A, ) spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on fighting degrading information about our Government. How about we do something similar in shutting down the entities that promote Pornography and do so in consideration of the healthy development and consideration of the young minds of those we want to eventually be the people in place to run our country. Unfortunately we can’t rely on our elected officials who give the appearance of caring about these issues, (I know some legislators do try to curb some of this smut) by passing what they feel is adequate legislation to contain the issue, But do they really follow up to see if the legis;ation they passed is functioning like it should , or could? With the Internet access to Pornography being more available than what many realize. Maybe we should start conversations with various segments of those media co,panies who could, if they were given the proper incentives, or repurcusions, start the process of really controlling/eliminating Pornography access avenues.

  6. exploring the avenues of reducing Pornography exposure/access to minds too young to realize what some of that exposure can do to their Moral wellbing.
