Friends,
As you probably know, our “Children’s School and Library Protection Act” was killed by the House Education Committee earlier this month after some public schools and community libraries spread misinformation about its scope and impact.
But we’re not backing down. Yesterday we reintroduced a new version of the bill—now known as House Bill 314. And tomorrow, legislative sponsors Rep. Jaron Crane (R-Nampa), Sen. Cindy Carlson (R-Riggins), and I will present the bill to the House State Affairs Committee.
Pornography has no place in schools or public libraries – period. Yet many public schools and community libraries exploit an existing loophole in Idaho obscenity law that allows them to promote or distribute pornographic materials to minor children.
In fact, public schools and community libraries in nearly thirty Idaho cities currently make obscene materials available to minor children, according to a report recently released by Idaho Family Policy Center. You can read that report – and learn which schools and libraries are involved – by clicking here.
No child should encounter sexually explicit books at taxpayer-funded schools or community libraries. Please be praying that the legislature doesn’t miss another opportunity to protect children from obscene material!
Standing for children,
Blaine Conzatti
President, Idaho Family Policy Center
P.S. This morning, the House Education Committee approved our school bathroom legislation (Senate Bill 1100) on a party-line vote. The bill now heads to the House floor.
This is a huge victory. Not only has Idaho Family Policy Center been on the front lines by drafting and championing this legislation, but nearly 2,000 of you responded to our action alert, sending over 28,000 emails through our Action Center to members of the House Education Committee. Your action made a huge difference—so thank you!

Please give me an update on the bills that passed and the ones that did not. Also what action our Governor took on them.
Thank you
Robert
