🚨 We’re Being Sued 🚨

Idaho Family Policy Center is under a MAJOR attack—and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Here’s the backstory: Nearly two years ago, Idaho Family Policy Center sounded the alarm on a sexualized drag event at a public park in Coeur d’Alene with children present.

The city prosecuting attorney’s office declined to press charges against the drag performer, noting that the videographic evidence did not reveal criminal activity.

We agreed with their bottom line conclusion. Although we believe the unedited video did show that the performer’s genitalia were unintentionally exposed to children in the audience, his conduct did not meet the legal standard for state crimes like indecent exposure.

The incident exposed a startling truth: Idaho state law is outdated and woefully inadequate to protect children from sexualized drag performances.

Idaho Family Policy Center wasted no time jumping into action, working with Sen. Ben Toews (R-Coeur d’Alene) and Rep. Ted Hill (R-Eagle) to research and draft legislation that would finally address this problem head-on.

Now the drag performer is suing Idaho Family Policy Center—and we suspect his real goal is to intimidate us and destroy our ministry.

But make no mistake: We’re committed to seeing this case through to its rightful conclusion, where we expect full vindication by a jury of our peers.

As we’ve said before, Idaho Family Policy Center stands behind our statements regarding the Coeur d’Alene drag show. Everything we have stated is factually true—and truth remains an absolute defense in cases like these.

That being said, their lawsuit against us smacks of the politically motivated lawfare that has characterized the progressive left in recent years. The drag queen’s attorney, Wendy Olson of Stoel Rives, is a longtime Democratic legal activist.

Mrs. Olson – whose Twitter posts and reposts raise questions about whether President Trump was hit by a bullet during the assassination attempt and regularly compare Trump to Hitler – rose to prominence after being appointed as a US District Attorney by President Barack Obama and serving as an advisor to US Attorney General Eric Holder.

She’s known for pursuing cases that many would describe as unabashedly partisan, including:

  • Suing state government officials over the Children’s School and Library Protection Act (H710), legislation that was largely researched and drafted by Idaho Family Policy Center to protect children from pornography in public schools and community libraries; notably, a federal judge sided against Olson’s clients last month, denying their request to preliminarily block enforcement of the law

  • Suing state government officials over a law which criminalizes trafficking of underaged girls across state lines to get an abortion; notably, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals recently sided against Olson’s clients, allowing significant portions of the law to go into effect

  • Suing the City of Boise after Lisa Sanchez was removed from the city council for moving outside of her city council district; notably, a state judge ruled in favor of Boise, holding that Sanchez had not been removed from her seat unlawfully

  • And just in the last several days, suing Kootenai County officials who removed a disruptive heckler from a recent GOP legislative town hall event in Coeur d’Alene

As if that weren’t enough, not only are Wendy Olson and her drag queen client coming after Idaho Family Policy Center, but they’re also coming after me and our former podcast host, Pastor Josh Bales, in our personal capacity. If they succeed, they’ll try to take our homes, our cars, and our personal property—destroying us financially.

We shouldn’t be surprised by these leftist bullying tactics. After all, when you stand boldly for righteousness and confront evil, the wicked always lash out in desperation.

But here’s the thing: This fight isn’t just about us. It’s about our kids, their future, and the soul of Idaho. Protecting our children from sexual exhibitions like drag shows in public places – and condemning those performances when they take place – is a hill we are willing to die on.

Right now, our legal bills are piling up. In fact, we’re expecting to soon spend as much as $8,000 per week on our court costs and attorney fees.

All told, this unplanned legal battle could cost upwards of $200,000 over the next several months.

We weren’t anticipating this unbudgeted financial blow—and right now, we’re quickly depleting valuable resources that we had planned to use for promoting God-honoring legislation at the statehouse, engaging the church on cultural issues, and training statesmen to advocate biblical values.

Will you prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible gift to help Idaho Family Policy Center cover our legal costs as we continue serving God through our ministry?

Your tax-deductible gift of $175, $350, or $725 will help us fight this battle in the court, defend our cause against those trying to destroy us, and continue proclaiming biblical values in a culture desperate for truth.

Our trial has been scheduled for late September. We covet your prayers, even as we trust that God will be our defender (Deut. 32:4).

Thank you for standing with Idaho Family Policy Center – and thank you for your generous financial support – during this critical time.
