ALERT: Sen. Risch Introduces Bill to Protect Gender-Confused Children

This morning, U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) introduced federal legislation to help protect children with gender dysphoria from sex change drugs and surgeries. Send your message now thanking Sen. Risch for his bold leadership!

During his first week back in the White House, President Donald Trump reversed a Biden-era mandate that used federal taxpayer dollars to fund puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and sex change surgeries for gender-confused children on federal employee health insurance plans.

But here’s the thing: President Trump’s executive order can easily be overturned by a future president, and there’s no telling what will happen during the next midterm election.

That’s why Congress must act now to permanently enshrine President Trump’s policy into law. Sen. Jim Risch’s bill would guarantee that future federal insurance programs will not cover any interventions for gender confused kids—regardless of the whims of future presidential administrations.

Over the last month, Idaho Family Policy Center has been working with Sen. Risch’s staff on this important legislation. As IFPC President Blaine Conzatti explained in our joint press release this morning:

“Our tax dollars should never be used for the purpose of sterilizing children with gender dysphoria. These children are struggling—and they need real help, not irreversible surgical and pharmaceutical interventions.

Both the State of Idaho and the Trump administration have taken steps to protect these vulnerable children. Now, it’s time that the U.S. Congress follows this growing consensus.

Idaho Family Policy Center thanks Senator Risch for his bold leadership in introducing this legislation to stop federal health plans from covering these destructive and highly experimental sex change procedures for children.”

Join us in thanking Senator Risch for standing with conviction to protect some of our most vulnerable children. Send your message to let Senator Risch know that he is not alone in this fight!
