IFPC Legal Center sues the Idaho Democratic Party!

The pro-abortion activists behind Proposition 1 know that they can’t win a fair fight—and now they’ve resorted to misleading voters by playing fast and loose with campaign finance law.

But we’re not going to let them get away with it.

You may have seen news reports on the massive Proposition 1 television advertising purchase placed by the Idaho State Democratic Party and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terri Pickens.

Here’s the problem: Democratic party operatives colluded with ballot initiative organizers Idahoans United for Women and Families to conceal the source of campaign funds and unlawfully secure discounted television advertising rates.

That’s why the IFPC Legal Center filed a lawsuit today on behalf of Stop Prop 1 organizers Tom Luna, Blaine Conzatti, and Christian Welp.

We’re asking a state district court to order the defendants to stop the advertisements, return all of the money that was contributed for an illegal purpose, and make sure that Prop 1 television advertisements are purchased at the normal rate instead of the improperly discounted rate.

By funnelling money through the political machine of the Democratic party, Idahoans United for Women and Families was able to purchase television advertisements for rates as much as ninety percent lower than the Stop Prop 1 campaign. As Blaine Conzatti explained:

Pro-abortion activists cheated their way into cheaper television advertisements to stump for their radical abortion ballot initiative. Instead of playing by the rules of the game as outlined in our state campaign finance laws, Idahoans United for Women and Families colluded with the Idaho Democratic Party to mislead voters and gain an unfair advantage. Idaho voters deserve transparency—not shell games and dirty tricks.

We need to ensure that this campaign is conducted fair and square, especially with only eight days left before the election. That compressed timeline means this case will probably move quickly—stay tuned.
