Despite Idaho state law forbidding it, the Pride flag is STILL hoisted over Boise city hall.
Over 10,000 emails were sent to Boise city officials through our Action Center last week, calling on the Boise mayor and city council to follow the law—but they’re still not backing down.
Last week in an interview with Idaho News 6, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean said:
“For nearly ten years the city has been flying the pride flag—and we will continue flying it because we are a safe and welcoming city that values all comers.”
Mayor McLean may be doubling down on her opinions, but the law is clear—and it’s time to hold our elected officials to account. Send a follow up message to city officials today demanding they follow the law and remove the Pride flag from city property.
As we said last week, we can’t let Boise decide which laws it will follow. Our state legislature has already made clear that Pride flags have no place on government flagpoles. If Boise won’t follow the law, it must be held accountable—so please send your message now!
