Exciting news: Congress is currently considering a federal school choice effort!
The Education Choice for Children Act (ECCA) – reintroduced in January of this year – would help provide scholarships for over two million eligible K-12 public, private, and home school students across the country.
The ECCA establishes tax incentives for privately funded K-12 scholarships, ensuring that neither schools nor families receive government funds—meaning no strings attached.
Additionally, the ECCA would not involve the Department of Education, and it would not impose any federal mandates on schools.
These legislative details matter, as we have no interest in education policy being directed by Washington. Passing the ECCA would expand educational options for students, empower parents, and save taxpayer money—but we need you to contact your members of Congress and ask them to support this critical legislation!
God makes it clear in his word that parents are responsible for the education of their children. Ephesians 6:4 commands fathers to “bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” The ECCA would help parents fulfill this responsibility to educate their children by providing financial help for expenses like tuition, books, and other supplies.
With so much at stake, it is important to contact our US Representatives and US Senators to ensure that they take an active role in this federal school choice effort. You can use our Action Center to send a message right now and urge their support.
P.S. In 2024, the bill had more support in Congress than any previous federal school choice bill—with 31 Senate co-sponsors and 155 House co-sponsors.
This opportunity should make us optimistic about the future of our nation’s education, but if we don’t contact our legislators then this opportunity for Idaho children could slip away. Send your message now.
