Yesterday was a big day at the Capitol!
You’ve probably already heard about our School-Sponsored Bible Reading Act which would restore daily Bible reading in every Idaho public school. That bill (House Bill 162) was introduced in the House Education Committee yesterday.
We’re excited to partner with sponsor Rep. Jordan Redman (R-Coeur d’Alene) on this important legislation.
As we keep saying, our children and communities are starved for biblical truth and morality. That’s why this legislation:
- Ensures that children are exposed to the entirety of Scripture – from cover-to-cover – during their public education
- Cultivates the morality of future generations and encourages good citizenship
- Provides reasonable accommodations to teachers and students with with conscience objections
- Does not open the door to the use of other religious texts, like the Quran or the Satanic Bible
- Conforms to the requirements of both the U.S. Constitution and the Idaho Constitution

A full committee hearing will be forthcoming. In the meantime, would you please prayerfully consider a generous tax-deductible gift to Idaho Family Policy Center?
This legislation took our policy team years of research and work – and we still have a long way to go – but with your partnership, we will build an Idaho where God is honored once again!
P.S. Local journalist Laura Guido (Idaho Press) wrote a fair and informative article discussing the School-Sponsored Bible Reading Act that was published yesterday.
