An article in the Daily Mail (“Outrage as Idaho libraries BAN children and demand visitors show ID if they are under 30,” 07/07) incorrectly reported that IFPC President Blaine Conzatti and his wife run Parents Against Bad Books (PABB), a parent-led grassroots group in Idaho Falls.
To set the record straight: Blaine Conzatti, Anna Conzatti, and Idaho Family Policy Center have no official relationship with PABB.
The Daily Mail also incorrectly reported that PABB participated in the drafting of the Children’s School and Library Protection Act (House Bill 710). This claim is false. In fact, the new law was researched and drafted by Idaho Family Policy Center.
We have also heard reports that PABB is distributing a list of 53 “bad books” they want removed from the Idaho Falls Public Library catalog. To be clear, Idaho Family Policy Center does not believe each of the 53 books listed meets the objective legal standard for obscenity under the Miller test as applied by the courts.
Idaho Family Policy Center has formally requested a correction from the Daily Mail but has not received a response.
