News Roundup: CA Attacks Parental Rights; Pro-Life Activists Imprisoned

1. Trans-ing kids isn’t constitutional—more good news for our Vulnerable Child Protection Act!

We made history this legislative session when the Vulnerable Child Protection Act – which was drafted by Idaho Family Policy Center and championed by Rep. Bruce Skaug (R-Nampa) and Sen. Lori Den Hartog (R-Meridian) – became law, making Idaho the tenth state to protect gender-confused children from sex change drugs and surgeries.

Since then, ten more states have enacted similar protections—and the LGBT lobby is furiously challenging every one of these laws in court.

They won’t win. In the last few weeks, courts around the country have affirmed the constitutionality of state laws that protect children from irreversible puberty blockers, hormones and surgeries—including in Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri, and, as of yesterday, Texas.

This is a great sign for the pending legal challenge against our Idaho law that was filed earlier this summer by the ACLU. These laws are constitutionally, scientifically, and morally sound—and children need these protections!

2. Pro-life activists incarcerated for blocking access to an abortion business

Earlier this week, five pro-life activists were convicted in federal court of violating a law that restricts civil disobedience outside of abortion clinics in Washington, D.C. The activists were immediately incarcerated and now face up to eleven years in prison as well as a $350,000 fine.

Proverbs 24:11 tells us to rescue those being led away to death. In a just society, trying to save the preborn should be considered virtuous, not a crime to be punished.

3. Marriage is so much better than media portrayals

Day in and day out, corporate media relentlessly attacks God’s good design for marriage. Their harmful rhetoric especially affects young single women by telling them that marriage results in life-long misery—dirty chores, crying children, and oppressive men.

But mounting social science evidence reveals that such claims are false. In fact, studies show that married women are almost twice as likely to be ‘very happy’ than those who are single.

Ephesians 5:25 commands husbands to love their wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that married women experience greater happiness and financial stability than their unmarried peers.

4. California AG advances the LGBT agenda by attacking parental rights

Get this: California Attorney General Rob Bonta is SUING a local school district because it has the gall to inform parents when their children begin identifying as the other biological sex at school.

LGBT activists like Bonta want educators to hide children’s behavior from parents. After all, radical leftists believe parents couldn’t possibly understand what’s right for their own kids—apparently, that wisdom resides solely in teachers and school counselors!

In the real world, parents have the God-given right to nurture and direct the upbringing of their children, not government schools. Now is the time to shore up our laws here in Idaho so that our schools don’t follow the dangerous, anti-parent and anti-family path charted in California.

5. TAKE ACTION: Boise Pride plans to expose children to sex workers

Boise Pride Festival is only one week away—and this year, event organizers are planning to feature performances from sex workers!

On the one hand, Boise Pride markets itself as “family-friendly” and targets young children with bounce houses, snowcone stands, and face painting activities.

But on the other hand, Boise Pride will host burlesque dancers, drag queens, and other sexually oriented performers on its main stage—including in its programming, like the Rainbow Reading Time, that is clearly intended for child audiences.

Jesus says that it would be better for someone to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause a little one to stumble. Luring young kids to a supposedly family-friendly event where they are exposed to a highly sexualized environment is exactly the type of evil that Jesus warns against.

Help fight back by asking corporate sponsors to withdraw their support and funding for Boise Pride 2023!
