This week, we celebrate the two-year anniversary of the Idaho Heartbeat Law going into effect.
When this law took effect two years ago, we witnessed an immediate and miraculous change—the elective abortion rate in Idaho dropped to zero overnight.
Thousands of precious babies with beating hearts have been saved as a result. These children will now have the opportunity to enjoy childhood, contribute to their communities, and one day, raise families of their own.
As the Psalmist says, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord” (Psalm 77:11). Today, we give thanks for the countless lives that have been saved through God’s grace and our collective efforts.
However, while we celebrate this incredible progress, we also recognize that our work is far from finished.
Idaho Family Policy Center remains steadfast in our mission to continue expanding pro-life protections. Our goals for the future include:
- Eliminating rape and incest exceptions so that every child receives equal protection of the law, regardless of the circumstances of their conception;
- Prohibiting abortifacient drugs and devices – like Plan B and IUDs – that have the potential to destroy human life after fertilization;
- Expanding the legal personhood of preborn babies in state tax law and family law.
As we reflect on the past two years, let us recommit ourselves to the work that lies ahead.
With God’s help and your continued partnership, we will together build an Idaho where life is cherished—and where every person is protected and loved.
